Damascus, SANA-A number of young men and women assumed the responsibility of reviving and rescuing a Syrian original heritage, inspired by “the imagination of shadow” and engaged with the social work throughout the years of the war with a modern spirit.
Those young men and women were the column of the second stage of maintaining the Syrian shadow theater, launched by the Syrian Trust for development within the program of “the heritage of Karakouz and Iwaz.”
The program was enlisted by the international governmental committee to maintain the cultural non- profit heritage, affiliated to UNESCO, on the heritage list in 2018.
The young men were distributed in a big hall in the Takkiyah center in the middle of Damascus to take part in a workshop for one day that included the basic principles of the shadow theatre.
The program has put a basic goal which is graduating a students who are capable of conveying knowledge to the coming generations through the art of shadow to express the social reality in all different aspects of life.
