Hama, SANA- Syrian Arab Army units repelled a large attack by terrorists in the direction of al-Zakat-Hasraya in Hama northern countryside, inflicting heavy losses upon them in the personnel and equipment.
A military source said in a statement to SANA that ” terrorist organizations in Hama northern countryside starting from 23:00 pm on Tuesday mobilized large numbers of gunmen and booby-trapped vehicles and launched an attack in the direction of al-Zakat-Hasraya as our forces which are operating there were forced to withdraw from some of our advanced positions.”
The source affirmed that the attack was repelled and a counter attack was launched as the situation was restored to what it used to be after inflicting heavy losses on terrorists in the personnel and equipment.
“Our units which are tasked with carrying out the mission are continuing to hunt down the remnants of gunmen in the region,” the source added.
On Tuesday, army units inflicted heavy losses upon terrorists through conducting intensive bombardments against their strongholds in Mouza, Qaldin, al-Anqawi and Khirbet al-Naqous in the area of al-Ghab Plain in Hama northwestern countryside.
