Art exhibition at Abu Rummana Cultural Center

Damascus, SANA – Works by over 14 artists, including painters and sculptors of various age groups, were featured in an exhibition at Abu Rummana Cultural Center in Damascus on Sunday.

The pieces in the gallery ranged between paintings using oil colors, watercolors, pencils, and acrylic, with various art styles ranging from the realistic to the abstract, in addition to woodcarvings and bronze sculptures.

Artist Rami Abu Ismael, one of the artist, said he participated with an oil painting called “The Music Players” which depicts a woman playing the guitar and a man playing the piano in a cubist style.

Meanwhile, artist Mutaz al-Omari, a graduate from Adham Ismael Institute, participated with four paintings that tackled subjects related to the current situation in Syria using a variety of techniques including oil colors and acrylic.

Art 5

Fellow gradate from Adham Ismael Institute, Mario Paul, presented three oil paintings depicting still life, while artist Simaf Hussein presented two wood sculptures, one of them expressing the duality of man and woman.

Artist Hussam Taleb participated with two paintings expressing the feeling of waiting and its effect on the human psyche, while sculptor Firas Fadel presented a polyester sculpture depicting the female and the feelings she possesses in a symbolic manner.
