Forest fire erupted due to terrorist rocket attack in Hama countryside extinguished

Hama, SANA- Firefighting teams at the General Commission for Management and Development of al-Ghab Palin in Hama province, backed by firefighting teams at Lattakia agriculture Directorate and the locals managed to extinguish  a huge fire which erupted on Wednesday evening in the forests of Nubbul al-Khatib village in Hama countryside.

The fire erupted due to a rocket shells fired by terrorist groups which fell on the area.

Director of the General Commission for Management and Development of al-Ghab Plain Awfa Wassof told SANA reporter that the firefighting teams were able to control a fire which erupted in the forests of Nubbul al-Khatib in Hama northwestern countryside.

Wassof indicated that about 750 dunums of pine forests were damaged due to the fire.

He added that the area on which terrorists fired rocket shells is rich in pine trees and the dry annual herbs which makes it a suitable environment for the eruption of fire.

On Wednesday, terrorist groups fired a number of rocket shells on Shatha town to the northwest of Hama city, causing material damage and the eruption of fires at the locals’ farms and the forests surrounding the town.
