Food and health baskets distributed in Yarmouk Camp

Damascus, SANA Supported by the Syrian government, the General Authority for Palestine Arab Refugees (GAPAR) and the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) continued distributing food and health baskets to the people of Yarmouk Camp in Damascus who are besieged by terrorists.

GAPAR Director Ali Mustafa told SANA that the 400 food baskets and 400 health baskets were distributed at Rama Street in the Camp on Thursday and Friday.

Mustafa added that the UNRWA’s medical center continues to provide health services and medicines to patients who need treatment, asserting that two patients were evacuated during the last two days, bringing the total number to 4496 cases during 2014.

He stressed that the total number of food baskets that have been distributed since January 30th reached to 52,774 and the health baskets to 8,684.

Mustafa added that the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) delivered the Palestinian Red Crescent 12,000 Chlorine tablets for water purification in the camp.

He appreciated Syria’s continuous support to the Palestinian people.
