UN Association of Syria calls for assisting Syria in eradicating terrorism

Damascus, SANA- The United Nations Association of Syria called on the UN to play an active role in helping Syria to eliminate terrorism and overcome its repercussions and to purge the Syrian territories of any illegal presence.

In a congratulatory letter to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on the 73rd anniversary of establishing the UN, the Association stressed that the peace for which the Organization was established is still far from being achieved.

It also pointed out that Syria has had a large share of the tragedies resulting from the lack of peace.

The Association called on the UN to identify the responsibilities of states and non-governmental bodies that played a role in the terrorism that targeted Syria.
