Syrian-Iranian talks to bolster scientific and technological cooperation

Tehran, SANA-Minister of Higher Education Dr. Atef Naddaf discussed with Vice-President for Science and Technology Affairs, Nosratollah Zargham, who serves as President of the Iranian National Science Foundation (INSF) and a number of officials the aspects of scientific and technological cooperation and scientific research between Syria and Iran, as well as means to upgrade the scientific and technological levels in the education sector.

During a meeting held in Tehran, attended by Syria’s ambassador to Iran Dr. Adnan Mahmoud, the two sides emphasized the necessity of benefiting from the expertise of the two countries and supporting scientific and technological research in all specializations for the mutual social welfare, stressing the importance of preserving scientific capabilities and preventing brain drain.

Meanwhile, Naddaf discussed with Rector of Tarbiat Modares University the joint scientific cooperation between the university and its Syrian counterparts and the exchange of expertise, professors and scientific research, with the university expressing readiness to cooperate in preparing the Syrian universities’ cadres.
