Syrian freedom fighter Fadlullah Muqalled dies aged 104

Sweida, SANA-Syrian freedom fighter Fadlullah Muqalled from Sweida province died on Wednesday at the age of 104.

The death of the prominent freedom fighter comes 83 years after he took down the French flag from Sweida Castle and raised the Syrian flag over it, which happened on May 29, 1945.

The late was a witness to the great Syrian revolution led by Sultan Basha al-Atrash against the French occupation and the historical stage leading up to Syria’s independence.

The funeral of Muqalled was attended by popular, official and religious figures.
