Cairo, SANA – UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura stressed the need to commit to joint action in tackling the crisis in Syria and combating terrorism, saying that he will continue his tour of the region to discuss the situation in Syria and related humanitarian issues.
In a brief statement to journalists following his meeting with Arab League Secretary General Nabil al-Arabi on Sunday, de Mistura said that they discussed issues related to terrorism in Syria and Iraq, the latest developments in the Syrian crisis, and the efforts made to reach a political solution for it, in addition to discussing counterterrorism efforts.
