Damascus, SANA – Prime Minister Imad Khamis discussed with the Brazilian parliamentary delegation, headed by Arlindo Chinaglia, means of boosting bilateral cooperation between Syria and Brazil serving the interests of the two states and their people.
Premier Khamis called for enhancing cooperation in light of the Syrian government’s keenness on bolstering economic relation with friendly states to achieve comprehensive development, hailing the support and solidarity of the Syrian community in Brazil with their homeland against the terrorist war waged on the country.
He noted the significant role of parliamentary delegations’ visits to Syria in conveying the reality of what is taking place on the ground, the achievements made by the Syrian army and the recovery and stability witnessed during the last period, stressing the need to lift the unilateral and coercive economic measures imposed on the Syrian people in order to be influential part of the reconstruction stage.
Khamis reiterated the Syrian state’s determination to fight terrorism until the entire Syrian territory is fully cleaned of terrorists in parallel with its keenness on rehabilitating all facilities destroyed by the terrorist organizations, inviting the Brazilian delegation to seize the opportunity and benefit from facilitations offered by the Syrian government to support investment projects and provide the appropriate environment to be established.
For his part, Head of the Brazilian delegation expressed his country’s solidarity with the Syrian people in their war against terrorism and its appreciation of sacrifices they have made to defend their homeland.
He also hailed the Syrian people’s strong will to rebuild what has been destroyed and overcome the consequences of war through reviving production and exerting serious efforts to restore the country’s significant position in the world.
