Wednesday weather: Temperatures to drop notably, snow expected over mountains

Damascus, SANA- Temperatures will notably drop to become around average or slightly lower as the country is affected by a polar low air pressure in all layers of the atmosphere accompanied by wet and cold air mass.

Meteorology Department expected in its Wednesday bulletin that the skies will be partly cloudy to cloudy and rainy in most areas and the rainfalls will be heavy and accompanied by thunder sometimes while snow will fall over the mountains whose height exceeds 1200 meters.

The wind will be moderate with active gusts whose speed exceeds 60 km per hour and the sea waves will be medium to high in height.

Various amounts of rainfalls were registered in the Syrian provinces over the past 24 hours as follows: Damascus Countryside 5 mm, Daraa 22 mm, Homs 60 mm, Hama 20 mm, Tartous 34 mm, Lattakia 64 mm, Aleppo 6 mm and Hasaka 1 mm.

The expected temperatures in some of the major Syrian cities will be as follows: Damascus 15/7, Daraa 16/8, Homs 13/5, Lattakia 17/11, Aleppo 11/5 and Deir Ezzor 14/7.
