Damascus, SANA – Syria’s national chess team will take part in the 9th Beirut International Open-Chess Championship due to kick off tomorrow.
In a statement to SANA, Chairman of the Syrian Arab Chess Federation, Ali Abbas, highlighted the importance of this championship in improving the chess players’ skills and enhancing their mastery of its tactics, noting that more than 105 players from Arab and Asian countries will compete in this tournament which lasts for one week.
The national chess team of Syria includes players Malek Koniahli, Aram Adam, Amer al-Turki and Qutaiba Ghannam and it is headed by member of the Chess Federation Bashar Moustafa.
