Chaldeans Patriarch criticizes Western policies about Christians immigration from Syria and Iraq

Beirut, SANA-Patriarch of Babylon of the Chaldeans Archbishop Louis Sako criticized the policies of Western and European countries which “open the doors of emigration for Syrian and Iraqi Christians.”

Sako’s comments came in press statements he gave as he was leaving Lebanon’s capital Beirut back to Baghdad after he attended” the Patriarchs of the Orient” meeting.

Slamming these policies as “unrealistic and myopic”, Archbishop Sako called on Western countries to reconsider them.

He warned that terrorism will come back to haunt the same countries that have fed it, indicating that they “will find themselves face to face with battle-hardened terrorists coming from Europe who pose a greater threat than Arab terrorists.”

The meeting provided a platform for discussing the situation of Christians in the Middle East, the Patriarch said, citing a pressing need for further discussions about the importance that the region preserves its diversity and richness .
