Cabinet discusses several economic, services and developmental issues

Damascus, SANA – Future plans of several ministries, governmental procedures to solve economic, services and developmental issues and the daily affairs of citizens were discussed at the weekly cabinet meeting.

The Cabinet agreed to grant 75% as job compensation for physical therapists with the aim of encouraging this profession taking into account the increasing numbers of injuries due to the terrorist war waged on the country.

Minister of Awqaf (Religious Endowments) Mohammad Abdul-Sattar al-Sayyed reviewed the Ministry’s plan to upgrade its work and take necessary measures to implement the administrative reform project.

For his part, Minister of Education Hazwan al-Waz briefed the Cabinet on efforts exerted to further develop the educational process and improve the quality of educational curricula to include enhancing skills instead of accumulating knowledge.

Minister of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform, Ahmed al-Qaderi highlighted the ministry’s continued work to help restore the agricultural sector and rerun the production process as well as providing more job opportunities through supporting rural projects.

Future plans set up by the ministries of Social Affairs, Information, Culture, Transport, Electricity, Finance and Water Resources were also reviewed with ministers stressing the need to exert more efforts to upgrade the performance in these sectors and fulfill their duties  in order to meet citizens’ needs and requirements.
