Four killed, 30 injured in terrorist car bombing in Homs

Homs, SANA – Four people were killed and 30 others got injured when terrorists detonated a car bomb near the main electricity station in al-Zahraa neighborhood in Homs city.

SANA reporter  said that two terrorists detonated a booby-trapped pickup in front of the electricity station, claiming the lives of four people and injuring 30 others, in addition to causing material damage in the place of explosion.

The reporter pointed out that  member of a security patrol suspected a car and opened fired on it before it reached the surrounding of al-Ahli Hospital and the heavily-populated main square in al-Zahraa neighborhood before the terrorists blew themselves up in the car.

A medical source at Homs Health Directorate said that bodies of two girls, a woman and an engineer working in the station were admitted to the hospitals due to the terrorist explosion.

Homs Governor Talal al-Barazi said in a statement to SANA that the hopeless attempts of the terrorists to destabilize the situation in Homs city is doomed to fail, clarifying that the Syrians have taken their decision to confront terrorism and eradicate it from the whole country.

Al-Barazi noted that Homs lives a state of security and stability for a long period of time thanks to the victories of the Syrian Arab Army and the efforts exerted by the Interior Security Forces, hailing the great victory of restoring stability and security to al-Waer neighborhood that was achieved by the Syrian Arab Army and the reconciliation agreements where the city has become free of arms and gunmen completely.

Homs city was declared free of all manifestations of arms since Sunday after completing the implementation of the reconciliation agreement in al-Waer neighborhood where hundreds of gunmen got out of it and others had their legal status settled in accordance with Amnesty Decree No. 15 for the year 2016.
