President of Asian Kickboxing Federation supports hosting next Int’l Kickboxing Championship in Damascus

Damascus, SANA – President of Asian Kickboxing Federation and Vice President of World Association of Kickboxing Organisations (WAKO), Nasser Nassiri, stressed that the Syria has proved its high competence in different kinds of sports, particularly individual sports topped by kickboxing.

In a press conference held at the General Sports Federation headquarters in Damascus, Nassiri voiced support to host the 2017 International Kickboxing Championship set on the 7th of July in Damascus.

He added that the Asian Kickboxing Federation will provide technical, practical and theoretical training to players, judges and coaches in order to enhance their expertise and upgrade their skills.

For his part, Chairman of the General Sports Federation Muwafaq Jum’a said that the next championship will be held within the festivity entitled “Syria wins” to stress that the Syrian sports’ determination to go ahead and gain global fame.

Chairman of the Kickboxing Federation in Syria, Manar al-Barzeh said that the championship which Syria will host next July under the auspices of WAKO and the Asian Kickboxing Federation is the first event since six years, adding that as a start, Iran, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon and Iraq announced their participation in the competitions.
