Damascus, SANA-A source at the Foreign and Expatriates Ministry said Thursday terrorist organizations kidnapped 43 soldiers from the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) in the Syrian Golan.
The source added that the crime of kidnapping the UN soldiers is not the first perpetrated by the armed terrorist organizations against the UN Force.
The Syrian government holds the terrorist organizations and the sides backing them fully responsible for the safety of the kidnapped soldiers and demands their immediate release, added the source.
UN confirms 43 of UNDOF members seized by an armed group in the Syrian Golan
For its part, the UN confirmed that an armed group seized 43 members of the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) in the Syrian Golan.
In a statement published on its website, the UN said 81 other members can’t leave their sites in the surrounding of Rouehina and Breka villages.
The international organization affirmed that it exerts all possible effort to guarantee the release of the seized members and return the movement freedom to the forces within the scope of their work.
