Moscow, SANA – Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation Yuri Ushakov said that the Russian and US efforts to fight terrorism provides a good basis for future work on the settlement of the crisis in Syria.
Ushakov was quoted by Russia Today website as saying that the Russian President Vladimir Putin’s telephone conversation with U.S. President-elect Donald Trump this week revealed a “shared desire to join efforts in the fight against terrorism” that creates a “good basis for future work on the Syrian problem.”
Presidents Putin and Trump agreed on the need to enhance bilateral relations, said Ushakov, adding that President-elect Trump noted to President Putin that he is very much looking forward to having a strong and enduring relationship with Russia and the people of Russia.
