Damascus, SANA – Dozens of outstanding children’s books, classic stories, new fictions and picture books with bright eye-catching colors and vivid paintings attracted the children who joined their parents to have a tour at the 28th Book Fair currently held at al-Assad National Library in Damascus.
The pavilion of children’s books exhibits several journals and series published by the directorate of child’s publications such as Osama and Shama Magazines, and the Childhood Library series, as well as biographies of creative scientists, translated children’s stories and other books for children of all ages.
In a statement to SANA, Salam al-Fadel, from the Syrian General Book Authority said that the Authority is organizing an activity entitled “Rainbow” which includes reading stories, competitions and distributing gifts to children.
For his part, Mohammed Tawfiq Halawani from Ajyal al-Ghad Publishing House highlighted that the return of the Book Fair following several years of suspension is a great achievement and contributes to the enrichment of the cultural scene in Syria despite the terrorist war waged against the country.
The 28th Book Fair lasts till Saturday offering affordable discounts. 75 Arab and Syrian publication houses are taking part in the fair which is accompanied by cultural and artistic events, including literary seminars and signing a number of newly released books, in addition to a fine art exhibition for the Syrian Plastic Artists Unionز
