Damascus, SANA – Ministry of Education announced on Monday the results of Basic Education and Sharia Elementary certificates for the 2016 academic year.
Education Minister Hazwan al-Waz said that 237,625 students took the Basic Education exam, with 169,180 passing at a percentage of 71.2%, while 1,911 out of the 2,286 students who applied for the Sharia Elementary exams passed at a percentage of 80.6%.
He said that seven students have got the perfect score (3100) in the Basic Education exams, while 8.03% of students who applies for the exams received the honors rank achieved by scoring between 2790 and 3100.
