Some countries’ continuous support to terrorists in Syria prolongs fighting terrorism process- Russian ambassador

Moscow, SANA- Russian Ambassador to Syria Alexander Kinshchak asserted on Monday the importance of enhancing the Syrian–Russian military technical cooperation in light of the terrorist war waged against Syria.

Ambassador Kinshchak pointed out that Russian-Syrian contacts are being conducted intensively on different levels and through different channels including embassies of both countries and their representatives at the international organizations, expecting a visit by senior Russian officials to Syria soon.

“Russian arms supplies to Syria are carried out in strict accordance with international standards,” Kinschak said in an interview with Russian Interfax News Agency, adding that Russia is doing so upon the demand of the legitimate government in Syria.

He pointed out that “The change in balance of forces on the ground in favor of the Syrian Arab Army and its achievements led foreign and some regional countries to increasing support to terrorist groups in Syria, to funding terrorists and handing them modern arms including portable air defense systems which will eventually end up in the hands of Jabhat al-Nusra and ISIS terrorist organizations.

He considered that those governments’ continuous support to the terrorist organizations in Syria will lead to fueling the war in Syria and prolonging the process of fighting terrorism.
