Foreign Ministry calls on UNSC to take deterrent procedures against countries supporting terrorism

Damascus, SANA – Foreign and Expatriates Ministry affirmed on Friday that targeting the safe residential neighborhoods in a number of Syrian cities with random shells by the armed terrorist organizations which some likes to describe as “armed opposition moderate” incites continuation these crimes in the context of the orders issued from their masters in Riyadh, Doha and Ankara.

In two identical letters addressed to the UN Secretary-General and Head of the UN Security Council, the ministry said that armed terrorist organizations targeted on the 3rd of February the safe residential neighborhoods of Daraa city with tens of mortar and rocket shells during the rush hours, claiming the lives of 17 citizens and injuring 101 others, including children and women and causing massive material damage to citizens properties.

The ministry added that terrorist organizations also targeted with random shells the city of Aleppo, injuring 10 citizens. In Harasta suburb in Damascus Countryside province, a citizen was killed and 2 others were injured when terrorists of the so called “Jaish al-Islam” targeted the suburb with their shells as well as in Hama central province where a child was seriously injured due to terrorist mortar attack.

These crimes are aimed at disrupting efforts to start Syrian-Syrian dialogue and to boost the morale of terrorists, added the ministry.

The ministry concluded its letters by saying that the government of the Syrian Arab Republic stresses the necessity of taking deterrent procedures against the governments of the countries supporting terrorism in implementation of Security Council resolutions No. 2170/2014, No. 2178/2014, No. 2199/2015/ and 2253 / 2015.
