Syria, Czech to enhance Tourism cooperation

Damascus, SANA-Minister of Tourism Bishr Yazigi discussed on Sunday with Czech Deputy State Secretary for Foreign Affairs Martin Tlapa means to enhance bilateral relations in all fields, mainly the tourism sector.

The minister expressed Syria’s appreciation for the objective stance of Czech towards the terrorist war waged on Syria which also targets its humanitarian heritage.

He considered that the biggest challenge in tourism sector lies in the method of reconstruction process as to allocate its revenues to support the state treasury.

The minister pointed out that terrorist attacks against the ancient monuments in Syria, particularly in Palmyra and Aleppo and smuggling antiquities, bombing some ancient sites and damaging them caused huge losses to tourism sector in Syria, but, the minister adds, these effects are temporarily and will not harm Syria’s future which has unique, historical and cultural constituents.

In turn, Tlapa talked about the future joint plans with Syria in tourism sector, adding that his visit comes to strengthen bilateral relations with Syria.

He hoped Syria would solve the crisis and situation would return to normal in all Syrian regions, adding he had good and positive impression with the Syrians’ adherence to their homeland.
