Army spokesman: Syrian Air Force destroys 323 terrorist targets

Damascus, SANA – A military spokesman for the Syrian Arab Army said army units are continuing their operations against the terrorist organizations and have made significant successes in several directions in the provinces of Daraa, Sweida, Damascus Countryside, Homs, Aleppo, and Lattakia.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the spokesman said that army units waged intense battles in several areas in Daraa and its countryside, establishing control over areas north of Sheikh Miskeen and between Sheikh Miskeen and Qarfa, in addition to thwarting a terrorist group’s attempt to infiltrate in the direction of military points in Dael village, killing many terrorists and destroying their weapons and equipment.

Also in Daraa, two bases for Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist organization, a workshop for manufacturing explosive devices, several vehicles and a car loaded with munitions were destroyed in Daraa al-Balad area in Daraa city, in addition to 3 machinegun-equipped vehicles on the road between Daraa and Khirbet Ghazaleh.

The spokesman moved on to Sweida countryside, saying that two heavy artillery pieces and a vehicle used by terrorists were destroyed by the army in Ash’heeb hill in the province’s northeastern countryside.

He stated that army units are advancing in Harasta area in the Eastern Ghouta part of Damascus Countryside, establishing control over several farms and buildings located on the eastern side of the international highway in the area, killing many terrorists in the process.

In Homs, army units targeted with concentrated strikes terrorists in the villages of al-Ameriye, Jbab Hamad, and Unq al-Hawam and in the surroundings of al-Shaer oil field, in Manoukh, in the surroundings of Hawareen town, and in the direction of Maheen, destroying 3 machinegun-equipped vehicles and an armored vehicle and eliminating large numbers of terrorists.

Regarding Aleppo, the spokesman said that army units and popular defense groups advanced in the southwestern direction of Aleppo city, establishing control over the towns, villages, and farms of al-Hader, al-Ees, Baness, and Jdaideh, Bajer, Tlailat, Maryouda, al-Ees mountain, al-Arbaeen mountain, Hadiya hill, Rasm al-Sehreej, Khirbet al-Mazare’a, Khirbet Nuzha, Khribet al-Mshaweh, and Khirbet al-Kousa, inflicting heavy losses on terrorist.

In the eastern countryside of Aleppo, the army advanced in the surroundings of Kwairis Miltiary Airport, establishing control over the villages of Erbid and al-Tamat and destroying 3 vehicles along with the terrorist and equipment on board in Deir Hafer, in addition to targeting terrorist sites in Benyamin, Saif al-Dawleh, Jub al-Safa, Ein al-Jamajma, Abu Denna hill, Oum Arkilla, al-Bab, al-Madyouna, Khan Touman, al-Salihin, al-Rashidin 5, al-Sheikh Saeed, al-Mansoura, Tal Establ, Erbid, Jurouf, al-Afesh, Haraza, and al-Salihiya in Aleppo and its countryside, killing and injuring dozens of terrorists and destroying a number of their hideouts and vehicles.

The spokesman said that in the northeastern countryside of Lattakia, the army established control over al-Karoura mountain and Hasouna hill after killing a number of foreign terrorists and destroying or seizing their equipment, arms, and munitions.

He added that the Syrian Air Force carried out 151 sorties targeting 323 terrorist targets over the past two days, destroying 7 command centers for ISIS in Maheem, al-Qaryatain, and the surroundings of Khnaifes in Homs’ eastern countryside, in addition to 2 ammo depots in Kafr Zeta and al-Latamneh and a cluster of machinegun-equipped vehicles in Morek and Atshan in Hama’s northern countryside, and two workshops for manufacturing explosives in al-Tamani’a and Maar Tahrama in Idleb countryside.

The source went on to say that scores of terrorists were killed in Hawareen, Teir Maala, and east of Jub al-Jarrah in Homs countryside, and in Maskana, Erbid, Tal al-Ahmar, Ikarda, Rasm al-Aboud, Rasm al-Abd, Oum Arkila, Abu Mraij, Sahab, and south of Mardikh hill in Aleppo countryside, as well as in east of al-Jafra, Hazla, and al-Maryaia in Deir Ezzor, adding that more than 20 armored vehicles were destroyed south of Ethria, Abu Hbailat, Sarha al-Qabaliya, al-Shmaliya, and in Saraqeb in Idleb, and in al-Barqoum and al-Ees in Aleppo.

“The army’s pinpoint strikes have caused deterioration in the morale of the terrorist organizations on more than one direction,” the military spokesman said.

He concluded by conveying a call from the Aleppo joint operations command to the locals in the southwestern countryside of Aleppo province, calling on them to return to their homes after the army and the popular defense groups have established control over many villages and towns in the area.

The command, he added, is ready to provide assistance to the locals to ensure their return to their homes and farms.
