Damascus, SANA- Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister Fayssal Mikad asserted on Tuesday that the terrorism which is targeting Syria and the Palestinian people aims to liquidate the Palestinian cause and end the Palestinian people’s right to return and to build their independent state, and it also aims at destroying the achievements of the Syrian people in the political and economic fields.
During his meeting with a delegation from the Palestinian Fatah Movement headed by member of its central committee Abbas Zaki, Mikdad asserted Syria’s continuing support for the Palestinian cause in confronting the criminal campaign led by international Zionism, Israeli extremists, and their allies in Saudi Arabia and others Arab countries.
He added that there is no difference between the terrorism that is targeting Syria and the terrorism practiced by Israel against the Palestinian people, because both share the same roots and are supported by Western sides.
The Deputy Minister affirmed that Syria supports the Palestinian Intifada regardless of the difficult circumstances it is experiencing, affirming that the Palestinian cause must remain the “main compass of the Arab struggle.”
For his part, Zaki said that Palestinian cause is passing through a difficult stage due to the extremism and racial policies of Israeli government, pointing out that the Palestinian people are proud of the legendary steadfastness of the Syrian people and the Syrian Arab Army in the face of terrorism.
