Awqaf Minister: European activists’ initiative reflects new understanding of the terrorist hostility against Syria

Damascus, SANA- The European activists’ Symbolic initiative of refuging to Syria is an approach for new understanding of the hostility targeting the Syrian people and humanity by the extremist Takfiri terrorists , Minister of Awqaf (Religious Endowments) Mohammad Abdul-Sattar al-Sayyed.

A delegation encompasses European activists and a group of global youths from 12 nationalities, including politicians, analysts, journalists, artists and activists who are supporting Syria in facing terrorism organized by the Expatriates Gathering for Syria arrived in Syria Tuesday .

Meeting the activists delegation at the Umayyad Mosque in Damascus Tuesday evening, al- Sayyed said ..Syria, the cradle of civilization and holy religions, is facing a terrorist war waged by Takfiri terrorist groups which adopt Wahhabi ideology backed and financed by the US, western countries, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

The unity of the Syrian people is an example to be followed, the Minister affirmed, pointing out that the crimes perpetrated by the terrorist organizations include the destruction of factories, schools and universities and desecration the mosques and churches, assassination of scientists, intellectuals and killing children, women and elderly persons.

For their part, members of the delegation stressed that they came to Syria to show solidarity with its people and army in fighting the Saudi-Qatari-Turkish- backed terrorism.

They stressed that they will convey the truth of what is going on in Syria and the hostility targeting the Syrian people at the hands of the terrorists.

On Monday, the delegation held talks in Beirut with head of the Movement of Independent Nasserites (al-Murabitoun) Brigadier-General Mustafa Hamdan where they showed support to Syria, army and leadership and the Lebanese national resistance who are fighting the global terrorism on behalf of the free world.
