Damascus, SANA – Syria on Tuesday condemned the stances that were reported in the statement issued by the European Union Foreign Ministers Monday, stressing that the Syrian people and the Army combating the Takfiri terrorism are more adherent to the national choices, independent decision and the brave and legitimate leadership.
An official source at Foreign and Expatriates Ministry told SANA that the Syrian people and Army reject any aggression from any side against their right of determining the future of the country and any blatant interference of European states in Syria’ internal affairs.
Syria condemns the stances that were reported in the EU FMs statement, which exposed all over again some European countries’ exaggeration in making the European Union a follower of the US Administration’s policy and a mortgage to material interests with obscurantist oil kingdoms, which made the EU unqualified and incapable to play any positive role in finding a solution to the current crisis in Syria.
The developments of events proved that the policy of the US Administration and those following it constitute the main backer of Takfiri terrorism whether in founding these terrorist organizations or providing them with all sorts of support for establishing the US strategies in hegemony on the region or through not being serious in counterterrorism making fanfare air operations that lack efficiency, which enabled the terrorist organizations to threaten the international and regional peace and stability.
The source clarified that in the framework of this US-European approach lies in the disturbance on the Russian air operations, in cooperation with the Syrian Arab Army, which have shown efficiency in confronting the terrorist organization of “the Islamic State in Iraq and al-Sham” ISIS, Jabhat al-Nusra and other terrorist organizations linked to al-Qaeda.
Russian operations also proved credibility of Russia and Syria’s decision in counterterrorism in accordance with international law and respecting the factors of the national sovereignty being a response to an official call from Syria, and this common effort will bring the right circumstances towards launching a political track for solving the crisis in Syria, the source said.
