Lavrov, Kerry discuss crisis in Syria

Moscow, SANA-Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Wednesday called for combating terrorist organizations in Syria in a collective manner.

Russia Today website quoted a statement by Russian Foreign Ministry as saying on social media that Lavrov discussed in a telephone call with his US counterpart John Kerry the solution to crisis in Syria, adding that the settlement, according to Geneva communiqué of June 2012, would be realized through a dialogue between the Syrian government and opposition.

The statement added that Lavrov reiterated the need for a unified front against terrorist organizations which pose threat to the international security as the biggest burden to fight them falls on the Syrian army.
