Photo Exhibition on Syria’s antiquities inaugurated in Caracas

Caracas, SANA- Syrian Embassy in Caracas, in cooperation with Foreign and Culture Ministries, inaugurated on Wednesday a photography exhibition under the title “Syrian antiquities’ treasures, a heritage for humanity” at Hugo Chavez Hall in the National Library of the Venezuelan capital.

The one-month exhibition displays photographs on the Syrian archeological sites before and after their destruction at the hands of armed terrorist organizations.

Syrian Ambassador in Caracas Ghassan Abbas pointed out to the importance of the exhibition which sheds light on acts of terrorism which have destroyed and looted the archeological sites since the start of crisis in Syria until now.

For his part, Venezuelan Deputy Foreign Minister Xoan Pablo Noya said the Exhibition is a message of solidarity with Syria as leadership and people, adding that Syria is one of the important Islamic centers in the world and Damascus was a source of arts, sciences and culture.

He appreciated the struggle of the Syrian people, condemning the massacres perpetrated by terrorists and their demolition of Syria’s historical edifices.

A number of Ambassadors attended the event.
