Homs, SANA Terrorists of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) targeted with a number of rocket shells Gas factory of (the south central region) in al-Foruqlos area in the eastern countryside of the central province of Homs.
The terrorist attack caused the factory to go out of service as a big fire erupted in addition to causing a material damage to the factory’s equipment, Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources said in a statement on its website on
Facebook.
The statement added that the fire was extinguished.
The ministry stressed that it has gradually reproduced gas through the emergency gas pipelines for the factory at 9:30 a.m. this morning.
The south central region factory of gas produces about half of the gas feeding the electricity generation stations of an estimating amount of 5 million cubic meters of clean gas per a day in addition to producing 50 tons of the home gas per a day.
