Shopping festival starts in Lattakia on the advent of Ramadan

Lattakia, SANA – A shopping festival was launched Saturday at Apamea shopping complex in the coastal Lattakia city on the advent of the holy month of Ramadan.

The festival, organized by the Ministry of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection represented by its organizations, is held to fulfill the clothes and food stuff needs of the city’s locals during Ramadan-the month of fasting for Muslims.

In a statement during launching the festival, Internal Trade and Consumer Protection Minister Hassan Safiye said the festival is an opportunity to put on market a wide range of Syrian-made products and others exported via the Iranian credit line at lower prices by no less than 30 percent.

He noted that the festival will be consequently organized in most of the provinces.

Safiye added that the festival aims at helping low-income people get access to their basic food needs during Ramadan, especially oil, ghee, cereals and meat.

Earlier in June 1-7, Chamber of Industry of Damascus and its Countryside of organized its monthly shopping festival in Lattakia where some 55 companies in various industries took part.
