Prime Minister: SYP 1.365 billion allocated to budget of Hasaka province and projects in it

Hasaka, SANA – Upon directives from President Bashar al-Assad, Prime Minister Wael al-Halaqi visited Hasaka province on Sunday, inspecting the performance of various economic, industrial, development, agricultural, and services sectors, and visited army units on the confrontation lines with terrorist organizations.

During the visit, al-Halaqi announced that a sum of SYP 1.365 billion has been allocated to the budget of Hasaka province and services projects and administrative units in it.

The sum will be divided as follows: SYP 200 million for the province’s independent budget, SYP 350 million for administrative units, SYP 75 million for waste treatment projects, SYP 50 million for industrial zones, SYP 50 million for digging artesian wells, SYP 200 million for maintenance of schools and state establishments, SYP 80 million to provide equipment for an oncology center, and the remaining funds will go to supporting services and financial projects.

The visit covered a number of exam centers where baccalaureate (12th grade) exams are being conducted in Qamishli city, in addition to Qamishli National Hospital, and a textiles factory, in addition to inspecting work on rehabilitation a power plant that was targeted by terrorists.

The Premier inspected the process of receiving and storing grains in Qamishli, noting that a sum of SYP 80 billion has been allocated to purchase this season’s grains.

He also visited a number of markets, bread-production facilities, and storage and marketing centers in Hasaka city, where he stressed the need to monitor prices in the markets and ensure the availability of all goods, particularly during the upcoming month of Ramadan.

Al-Halaqi visited a number of Syrian Arab Army units on the frontlines confronting terrorists, where he saluted the bravery and steadfastness of the army personnel on the frontlines.

The Premier was accompanied during these visits by Deputy Prime Minister for Services Affairs, Local Administration Minister Omar Ghalwanji, in addition to the Ministers of Education, Higher Education, Health, and Internal Trade and Consumer Protection.

Also during this visit to the province, al-Halaqi met local dignitaries and social, spiritual, economic, and cultural figures, representatives of popular organizations and unions, People’s Assembly members, and heads of state establishments.

In this meeting, al-Halaqi stressed the government’s commitment to improving communication and partnership with all components of the Syrian society, lauding the steadfastness of the people of Hasaka and their support for the Syrian Arab Army.

For their part, the figures who met with the Prime Minister posed some issues and demands related to agriculture, electricity, fuel, the judicial system, water, higher education, and health.

The Ministers attending the meeting responded to the issues that were proposed, saying that steps have already been taken to ensure the availability of bread, prevent rises in market prices, and secure the province’s needs of medicine and medical equipment.
