Damascus, SANA- Information Minister Omran al-Zoubi affirmed on Sunday that the locals of Hasaka form the main support base for the Syrian Army in its battle against ISIS and other terrorist organizations.
During a phone call with the Syrian television, al-Zoubi saluted Hasaka citizens, commending the bravery of the people of Hasaka, their commitment to national belonging and their support for the Army and popular defense groups.
The minister stressed that the Army is fighting in Hasaka, Idleb, al-Qalmoun, Daraa and all the Syrian areas, adding that the military situation on the ground sometimes necessitates that the army withdraws for regrouping or redeployment which he said is usually used by hostile media to disseminate false information about the ongoing events.
Al-Zoubi pointed out that “what happened in Hasaka and what is going on in al-Qalamoun prove beyond doubt that the Syrian Arab Army and popular defense groups all over Syria are highly-qualified”, adding that “the enemies’ attempts to distort facts by their media tools will not affect the Syrians’ morale.”
He said that hostile media has “failed miserably” because its attempts to breathe life into reeling terrorist groups by spreading rumors and lies have been laid bare for all to see.
The minister expressed confidence that Syria will eliminate terrorist organizations, affirming that “Syria will not be a hotbed for terrorism and will not be partitioned,” he said.
He said that national dialogue and reconciliation are the key to preserving Syria.
