Syrian delegation discusses enhancing scientific relations with Poland

Warsaw, SANA – The Syrian scientific delegation currently visiting Poland discussed on Tuesday during a meeting with the Rector of the Polish Higher Academy for Agriculture the prospects of cooperation between the Academy and Syria’s Damascus and Tishreen Universities.

During the meeting, the Rector of the Academy expressed readiness to discuss all means to achieve cooperation between both sides, while the Syrian delegation presented a draft cooperation agreement between the two sides, and the Polish side said it will study this proposal.

Both sides agreed on cooperating within the framework of Erasmus+, the European program for education.

In the same context, the Syrian delegation met with the director International Cooperation Department at the Polish Science and Higher Education Ministry and discussed reactivating scientific cooperation between Syria and Poland and benefiting from the experience of the two sides in this sector.

The Director pointed out that Poland has decided to improve scientific and cultural relations with the countries of the region, particularly Syria, and that the Ministry will focus its efforts on graduates from Polish universities, adding that the Ministry will discuss with the Polish Foreign Affairs Ministry the issue of changing procedures of scholarships in order to grant full scholarship for Syrians.
