Damascus, SANA – Tourism Minister Bisher Yazigi opened Monday a shopping festival marking the advent of the holy fasting month of Ramadan.

The 4-day festival showcases food products, children and women’s clothes, handicrafts, accessories and cosmetics.

Speaking to journalists after a tour of the festivals’ departments, the minister highlighted the importance of the activity as it “reflects the culture and traditions of the Damascene people ahead of [the holy month of] Ramadan.”

More activities that showcase the genuine heritage of the Syrian people are due to be organized during this week, he said.
