Damascus, SANA- Minister of Education Muhammad Amer Mardini discussed Saturday with Adele Khodr, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) Regional Director for the Middle East and North Africa the ways to strengthen educational relations between the Ministry and the Organization.
Mardini underlined the interest and willingness of the Syrian government to provide education to all children and train human cadres, and highlighted the role of the local community in cooperating with the Ministry to support the educational process.
He urged cooperation with UNICEF in several areas, especially with regard to training cadres, printing books and providing the software necessary to carry out teaching work.
For her part, Khodr noted the importance of supporting the educational process to protect children and ensure their future, and praised the efforts made by the Ministry in this field despite the challenges.
She highlighted the need to strengthen cooperation between the Organization and the Ministry in the field of supporting education and training, in addition to contributing to creating appropriate conditions for students coming from areas where armed terrorist groups are located to take their exams.
