Damascus, SANA-Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister Dr. Fayssal Mikdad said Syria highly appreciates the stances of Russia, led by President Vladimir Putin, in supporting Syria against terrorism.
Mikdad was speaking to a Russian delegation currently visiting Syria led by ambassador Azmatullah Kolmohammadov.
Mikdad said Syria is grateful for the Russian friends for their efforts to make a round of consultative meetings-held last January in Moscow between the Syrian government and opposition groups-a success, saying the Syrians are willing to deepen bilateral relations in all fields.
The Syrian government and opposition parties are poised for a second round of talks in Moscow in April.
The two sides reviewed preparations ahead of the forthcoming meeting, hoping that they will be another step forward for reaching a solution in Syria.
