Teachers’ Day celebrated in Aleppo University

Aleppo, SANA- Aleppo University on Thursday hosted a central festivity marking the Arab Teachers’ Day.

he festivity came in appreciation of the teachers’ role in the continuation of the educational process and their sacrifices in building generations.

Member of the Regional Leadership of al-Baath Arab Socialist Party Arkan al-Shoufi said organizing the event in Aleppo “carries great connotations” because he said “Aleppo has offered an example in steadfastness and sacrifice for the sake of homeland.”

Education Minister Dr. Hazwan al-Waz said picking Aleppo as the place of the festival is meant to express appreciation for the city that has held its ground against “forces of ignorance and darkness.”

Driving home a message of defiance, he said: “We are more determined than ever to remain steadfast and to be a real source of support for the army and armed forces.”

Participants, including teachers and students, elaborated on the symbols of the occasion, vowing continuity in their struggle to fulfill their duties no matter the challenges.

Among the activities celebrating the city’s teachers, families of teachers who lost their lives had been honored and an art exhibition was organized by the Teachers’ Syndicate.
