China denounces US violation of sovereignty of Syria and Iraq, UN Charter

Beijing, SANA- China has condemned the United States’ violation of the sovereignty of Syria and Iraq along with the United Nations Charter.

In response to US strikes in Iraq and Syria, China’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin said that China opposes any actions that violate the UN Charter and infringe upon the territorial sovereignty and security of other countries.

 “The current situation in the Middle East is highly complex and sensitive. China urges all parties involved to abide by international law, maintain calm and restraint and avoid further escalation or even loss of control of the regional tension,” he added.

On Friday, the US occupation forces launched an air attack on several sites and towns in Syria and Iraq near the Syrian-Iraqi border, claiming the lives of many civilians and soldiers, wounding others, and inflicting significant damage to public and private property
