Syria obtains two bronze medals, four certificates of appreciation at IMO2023 , Japan

Damascus, SANA- The Syrian Mathematical Olympiad Team won two bronze medals in addition to four certificates of appreciation at the 64th International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO 2023) being held in Japan with the participation of 672 students from around the world.

“The two medals went to Muhammad Ali Abdullah Houriyya and Sariya Muhammad Zaher Ramadan, while the certificates were obtained by Muhammad Firas al-Homsi, Haidar Hafez Qassem, Allayth Nasri Shaht, along with Abdul Wahhab Ibrahim Ouzoun”, according to a statement by Distinction and Creativity Agency (DCA).

“A remarkable progress has been made in the international ranking of Syria in this Olympiad, moving from the 70th to the 61st , ” the Agency added.

The Syrian team was accompanied by Dr. Omran Kouba, the Scientific Consultant of the agency .
