Syrian-Indonesian talks to enhance scientific cooperation

Damascus, SANA-Scientific cooperation between Syria and Indonesia was the focal point of talks between the Higher Education Minister Mohammad Amer al-Mardini and the Indonesian ambassador in Damascus Joko Harianto.

During the meeting, al-Mardini stressed the ministry’s interest in developing long-standing scientific and cultural ties with Indonesia that date back to the 1950s.

He said that a fierce war targeting Syria failed to stunt the education process in it, hoping prospects for further cooperation and mutual agreements with Indonesia will ensue.

The Indonesian ambassador, for his part, expressed readiness to sign scientific cooperation agreements with Syrian universities, hailing Syrian-Indonesian ties as solid.
