Damascus-SANA- The final statement of the quartet meeting of the ministers of agriculture in Syria, Jordan, Iraq and Lebanon stressed the importance of finding a formula for cooperation, coordination and integration in the agricultural fields and related services to achieve desired results of coordination in the field of agriculture and food among the four countries.
The statement underlined the need to Set up a working group to create partnerships among the agricultural ministries in the four states and the international organizations to establish joint regional projects to counter the climate change along with founding projects helping in achieving the food security.
It underscored the importance to Establish a platform for exchanging agricultural statistical databases, plans and agricultural projects in the four countries, facilitating the flow of agricultural goods, in addition to consultation on establishing Joint Agricultural Marketing Company along with addressing transit difficulties.
