Earthquake of 4.5 magnitude hits Nineveh Governorate in Iraq

Baghdad, SANA- An earthquake measuring 4.5 on the Richter scale hit the Hatra district in Nineveh Governorate, north of Iraq.

A statement issued by the General Authority for Meteorology and Seismic Monitoring explained that the quake was recorded on Wednesday morning, 39 kilometers southwest of Hatra district in Nineveh Governorate, north of Iraq, the Iraqi News Agency said.

According to the statement, the quake was felt by the citizen population in that area in varying degrees, according to the Agency.

No casualties or material damage were reported as a result of the tremor, according to the statement.
