An earthquake measuring 5.2 magnitude jolts southern Iran

 Tehran, SANA- An earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale jolted Larestan County in Fars Province, southern Iran.

Iranian Fars news agency reported that the epicenter of the tremor, which occurred this morning, was at a depth of 10 kilometers from the earth surface.

“After receiving news of the occurrence of this tremor, 3 teams of Red Crescent experts were sent to the site to assess the potential damage, and all Red Crescent centers in the province were put on alert,” said Hossein Darvishi, Managing Director of the Fars Red Crescent Provincial branch.

Darvishi pointed out that no information was received about the extent of the possible damage.
