Tehran, SANA- Minister of Higher Education Mohammad Amer Mardini discussed on Tuesday with Iranian Minister of Science, Research and Technology Mohammad Farhadi means of enhancing culture and scientific cooperation between Syria and Iran to promote them up to the level of political distinguished relations.
“The Syrian government gives special interest to the educational sector, the students and their scientific curriculum in order to follow up the demands of technology and science,” Mardini said during the meeting.
He pointed out to the sabotage acts that affected the Syrian educational centers at the hands of takfiri terrorist organizations, adding “In spite of the terrorist acts of killing and destruction, we continued our educational process.”
Farhadi, for his part, affirmed his country’s readiness to cooperate with the Syrian government and Higher Education Ministry in all fields, particularly in scholarships, exchanging scientific expertise in addition to holding joint research projects with the Syrian universities.
In this regard, Madini and Rector of Tehran University for Medical Sciences Amir Ismaili signed an understanding memo on cooperation in the domains of scientific programs, exchanging students and teaching staff and developing joint scientific programs.
Syria’s Ambassador in Tehran Adnan Mahmoud attended the meetings.
