Al-Moallem and Pakistani Senate chairman call for unified efforts against the terror threat

Damascus, SANA – Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and Expatriates Minister Walid al-Moallem stressed the need to have concerted efforts in the fight against terrorism facing Syria and Pakistan.

Al-Moallem was speaking during a meeting on Tuesday with the visiting Chairman of the Pakistani Senate Syed Nayyer Hussain Bokhari and the delegation accompanying him.

While highlighting the importance to enforce the Security Council’s resolutions related to combating terrorism, al-Moallem referred also to the significant role which parliaments could play in this regard with them being the real representatives of peoples at international forums.

Bokhari, for his part, also echoed the importance of international coordination for fighting terrorism which poses a real threat to the international community.

He voiced his hope that Syria will soon return back to its normal state of security and stability.

Talks during the meeting discussed the Syrian-Pakistani bilateral relations and means to boost them further in all fields.
