US citizen suspected of espionage for collecting biological information — FSB

MOSCOW, SANA- Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) opened a criminal case against a US citizen for collecting biological information.

“The Federal Security Service has opened a criminal case against a US citizen based on the body of evidence under Article 276 (Espionage) of the Russian Criminal Code,” a statement on the FSB’s website was quoted by TASS as saying on Thursday.

According to the agency, he is suspected of gathering biological intelligence information threatening the security of the Russian Federation.

The FSB did not provide any details. The suspect is facing up to 20 years of incarceration.
