Syria’s medal tally in UAE athletics competitions stands at 6, with 3 golds

Abu Dhabi, SANA – Syria won Monday a first medal in the 7th Fazza International Athletics -IPC Grand Prix- currently held in Dubai , the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Bassam Sousaq won the bronze medal in discus with a 39.53 throw.

With this new win, Sousaq rose to third his overall medal tally in a series of international competitions taking place in the UAE.

The first was a gold medal in shot put and the second was a silver in discus, both earned in Al Ain 9th International Athletics Meeting, the first competition within the UAE series.

In the same meeting, Mohammad Khaled al-Mohammad also won two gold medals in discus and shot put and Alaa Abdul-Salam gained a bronze medal in discus.
This makes the total of the medals gained by the Syrian team participating in the UAE competitions stand at six so far.

Fazaa International Athletics competitions will run through next Thursday with the participation of 690 athletes from 48 countries.
