ALBA member states call for lifting coercive measures imposed on some countries

Havana, SANA- The member states of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA) have affirmed their rejection of the unilateral coercive measures imposed on some sovereign states, noting that these measures violate human rights and the principles enshrined in the UN Charter and the international law.

In the closing statement of the 22nd summit of the alliance member states held in the Cuban capital, Havana, ALBA called for the immediate lifting of these measures because they are illegal and aim to destabilize the targeted countries.

They also called for respecting the right to self-determination of peoples, sovereignty and territorial integrity, and non-interference in the internal affairs of each country.

The member states also highlighted the importance of peaceful resolution of international disputes, and rejected the use or threat of force in international relations.
