Syrian-Indonesian talks in counter-terrorism efforts

Damascus, SANA-Interior Minister Mohammad al-Shaar discussed with the Indonesian ambassador in Damascus Joko Harianto means of developing bilateral relations in all fields, particularly in counter-terrorism.

Minister al-Shaar expressed appreciation for Indonesia’s support for Syria in the war against terrorism, vowing that this war will continue.

“Syria has always said that terrorism will backfire on those who are stoking it,” he added.

For his part, the ambassador said that Indonesia had once suffered from terrorism and now supports Syria in the war against it.

Indonesia is concerned over Indonesians joining terrorist organizations in Syria and the danger they pose upon their return, he warned.
